Judges

The Inspiring Women in Health and Social Care Awards are judged by an independent panel of respected professionals from across nursing, medicine, pharmacy, allied health, social care and NHS leadership. 

Our judges will include senior clinical and non-clinical leaders, healthcare executives and sector experts, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to every category. Their expertise helps ensure every entry is assessed fairly and against the published judging criteria. 

We're targeting a judging panel of 40+, with deliberate gender balance and a broad mix of ethnic backgrounds, professions, care settings and lived experiences to support fair and informed judging across the entire programme.

Judging process

The Inspiring Women in Health and Social Care Awards use a robust, independent and transparent judging process, ensuring every entry is assessed fairly and consistently. 

Each award category is judged by an independent panel of experts from across the sector. Every submission is reviewed against the published judging criteria to identify the highest-scoring entries before finalists are invited to the final stage of judging. 

Stage 1: Online Judging

Once entries have closed, the judging panel independently reviews and scores each submission. The highest-scoring entries in each category will be shortlisted. 

Stage 2: Virtual Roundtable Judging

Shortlisted entries will then be discussed in depth during a virtual judging roundtable, where our expert panel will debate and select the final winners. 

Lifetime Achievement Award

This category is selected directly by the judging panel rather than through the standard competitive entry process, recognising a career-long legacy rather than a competitively entered achievement.
